Workshops

We are pleased to announce we will be hosting Dr. Nathalie Edmond on Friday, October 13, 2023 for a training titled “Racial Trauma and Antiracism in the Therapy Room”. This training will provide 6 Cultural Competency CEUs. It will take place in person at the Smulin Health Education Center in Medford, OR.

The MHREN Board of Directors is committed to bringing high quality, renowned speakers to our region to present workshops on current issues in the field of mental health.

We generally provide four one day workshops throughout the year (usually on a Friday), each of which provides approximately 6 CEU credits for LPC’s, LCSW’s, psychologists, and psychiatric professionals.  We have found that the licensing boards for doctors, nurses, and teachers usually award continuing education credit for the workshops, as well.

Because of the requirements for ongoing Ethics and Cultural Competency education, the MHREN Board usually schedules a speaker on Cultural Competency on every even numbered year, and a speaker on Ethics on odd-numbered years.  (Because of having to cancel workshops in 2020 and 2021, we plan to provide workshops on both Ethics and Cultural Competency in 2022.)

Cost of these workshops is $100 for individual clinicians who have paid dues for the current year.  Cost to professional counseling associates (formerly Registered Interns) and retirees who have paid current dues is $45.  For those who have not paid the annual dues, the cost is increased by $25.  (Late registration is an additional $20 for all.)
